Kansas City, MO --Planet sub is taking its unique homemade bread and 45+ sandwiches, wraps, soups, and salads to the Mile­High city as they prepare to open their first unit featuring a crisp, new architectural design and branding.

Their new store, Located just of the 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver (1617 California Street), will feature new changes such as a website redesign; official roll­out of the new logo and store signs, new architectural concepts, new menus and menu boards, and even the addition of environmentally sustainable building practices. The new build out includes beetle­kill pine, reclaimed corrugated siding, a focus on in­store recycling, and also boasts local craft beers on tap.

What is not changing is the brands commitment to make each batch of bread from scratch, on­site at each of their locations. "We believe that making our bread from scratch is something we don’t just want to do so we can make the claim, we truly feel that it creates a superior product. Bread making has been, and always will be central to the Planet Sub brand, and is the driving force behind the fanaticism that surrounds the product," says Director of Marketing, Trevor Forssell. Other healthy menu options include full­leaf romaine wraps, and home­made gluten free bread.

Rocky and Michelle Joy, along with his son Ryan and wife Amanda are excited to be bringing the Franchise to Colorado and as Franchise owners they excited to have so much energy and excitement around the brand at the same time as their first location opens in Denver. The Joy Family has secured an area development agreement for the Northern Colorado market and has plans for 7 stores over the next 8 years. They have recruited the best of the best to operate the restaurants. Mike Payne (who is Planet Sub veteran) relocated his family from Kansas City and is looking forward to taking on the challenge of developing the Denver market.

Planet Sub Corporate is based out of Kansas City and has 40 plus stores throughout the Midwest. Owners Jeff Klusman and Sean Kelly made sure that through the rebranding process they maintained their heritage from the original Yello Sub (from which Planet Sub was born). We make as many recipes as possible from scratch in each store so our employees understand that the made from scratch quality is a cornerstone of Planet Sub and they can take pride in the food they are serving." Ryan Joy, Director of Franchising for Planet Sub corporate, has even bigger plans for the expansion of the brand. "In the past year, we’ve been approached by franchise groups who have either purchased or are in the process of moving forward with the possible development of territories in the greater Dallas, Fort Worth metroplex, Austin, Houston, New Jersey, as well as other areas in the mid west. We’re finding that when people try the product and see our new systems and branding along with our low cost of entry and extremely competitive franchise royalties, they start to get as excited as we are."
